Under the leadership of Director Incharge (DIC) BSL Amarendu Prakash, Bokaro Steel Plant is completely focused on township Maintenance & developments and with almost new team in alignment with ED (P&A) Sameer Swarup the work of entire township has taken exponential turn under the constraints of rain.
In same series post review of drainage system concern of township under Civil department led by CGM Township B.S Popli it was decided to repair drainage system in phased manner. Consequently Bokaro’s City centre situated in Sector-4 is the central market of Bokaro steel city and it was established almost 45 years ago to cater the commercial needs of public but with time Drainage system became a major concern due to frequent water logging especially during monsoon season.
Also recently for awareness and to enhance ownership a notice was published by BSL as general guidelines for public to adhere in order to avoid drainage related problems.
The entire existing infrastructure such as rain water drainage system, sanitary system and road network are very old and due to the unauthorized construction on road side rain water drains problem as well as wear and tear of the drain structure, it was utmost necessary to revive the same for continuous drainage of water and to avoid water logging further.
Thus Reconstruction of drainage system started firstly in City center under phase first as major course of action hence repair work on war footing basis visible around HDFC bank to Bank of India, behind Kozy sweets, yuvraj hotel and in front of PNB bank to sweet valley etc.
During an interaction with a Shop owner pertaining to repair work he said, “We have not seen such extensive drainage system repair in last 20 years and truly appreciate approach of permanent solution rather temporary”.
In this there is also plan of cleaning of drain below the Hawkers and miscellaneous shops in between SBI to Bank of India including Parking Areas in coming days along with other part of township in next Phase.
Further sharing information COC MK Dhan said that Town ship maintenance is under complete monitoring and on all priority actions already way back action initiated & further all planning there to streamline and ensure healthy township for the citizen of Bokaro Steel City.
