Continuing its thrust on pro-women, pro-rural and pro-poor initiatives, the Uttar Pradesh budget 2021-22 has laid special emphasis on the welfare of women and empowerment of the daughters in the state.
The budget reflects the vision of the Yogi Adityanath-led UP government to empower women at the grassroots levels in the state. The government has reiterated its resolve towards women safety, dignity and empowerment.
For improved implementation of Mukhyamantri Kanya Sumangala Yojana which revolves around the uplift of the daughters of the deprived sections of society, Rs 1,200 crore has been earmarked. Under this scheme, tablets will be distributed to equip the talented daughters with advanced technology.
The budget also proposes a provision of Rs 100 crore to resolve the problem of malnutrition among women and children under the Mukhyamantri Saksham Suposhan Yojana.
Along with this, provisions of Rs. 4,094 crore and Rs 415 crore have been made for the Nutritional Programme and National Nutrition Campaign, respectively. The government's new scheme Mahila Samarthya Yojana too gets a boost for women's welfare.
The government has also proposed Rs 200 crore for its new initiative Mahila Samarthya Yojana to push women and daughters on the path of development. With this, a provision of Rs 32 crore has also been proposed for a special drive to strengthen women by establishing Mahila Shakti Kendras in the state.
