Case against singer for hurtful song on female students

A case was filed against Bhojpuri singer Neha Singh at a Jaunpur court over a song alleged to have hurt the sentiments of college girls on Wednesday.

Based on a complaint filed by Ravi Prakash Pal, Additional District and Sessions Judge (IV) ordered the registration  of a case against t eh singer and February 20 has been fixed as the next date for hearing.

Pal had alleged that Bhojpuri song ‘Chala dekhi aai Jaunpur ke B.Ed College’ hurt the sentiments of the women students pursuing B Ed in the district. Earlier last month, the complainant sent a legal notice to the singer by post and asked her to apologize within 15 days and broadcast it on the social media.

But getting no response, Pal submitted an application in the court through advocates Himanshu Srivastava and Bhupendra Vikram Singh alleging that the song promoted on social media was hurtful to women BEd students of the district.

Pal alleged  in his complaint that the style and lyrics of the song were extremely derogatory. and aimed at women doing BEd from Jaunpur lowering their dignity.
