The CBI investigating the alleged murder case of Dhanbad district court judge Uttam Anand on Saturday detained a youth and also sent notices to two persons for questioning.
The youth identified as Vikram Singh, a native of Barora was later on freed by the agency after questioning. The agency has sent notice to Katras resident Shahid Ansari and one more youth asking them to appear before the agency for questioning.
However, they are not among the suspects but the CBI decided to quiz them as they were seen in the CCTV loitering close to the vicinity at Randhir Verma Chowk where the judge was knocked down by a speeding auto rickshaw which accused Lakhan Verma and Rahul Verma were driving.
The incident had taken place on the morning of July 28 when the judge was returning to official residence after morning walk.
The incident had created a national uproar and the case was later on handed over the CBI which is investigating the case under the monitoring of Jharkhand High Court.
But the High Court was not happy as the CBI was unable to make any progress in this case.
The CBI announced a cash prize for giving valuable information about this case. Later on the cash prize was doubled.
The High Court asked the CBI to closely examine the CCTV footage of the incident and trace all those persons who are seen the CCTV.
In another important development the CBI investigating alleged suicide
case of Jharkhand Police officer Rupa Tirkey ha now started investigating.
The CBI is likely to seek police remand of Shiv Kanaujia who is in the judicial custody. Kanaujia is the sub-inspector of Jharkhand police and he was arrested and charge-sheeted by Jharkhand Police under the charge of abatement of suicide.
