Chhattisgarh improves ranking in ‘inclusive development’

In terms of ‘inclusive development’, Chhattisgarh has made it to the top five States of the country securing the fifth rank in a national survey. Andhra Pradesh has been ranked first.

In a ranking made on the basis of a survey conducted by a national magazine, Chhattisgarh is ahead of states like Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh.

To create equal opportunities for every section, a road map was prepared for economic development after a Congress government took office headed by Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel, an official communication said.

As part of it, farmers’ loans were waived off, input subsidy is provided to farmers on different crops, minor forest produce is covered by minimum support price and work in the rural areas is ensured through MGNREGA.

The gauthans have been generating employment opportunities for the rural women. Apart from the core industry, rural cottage industries are also promoted.

The state recorded a boom in all sectors including automobiles, increase in GST collection and procurement of maximum quantity of forest produce.
