Delhi recorded 316 new Coronavirus cases while the positivity rate stood at 0.44 per cent. According to the health bulletin released on Tuesday, 41 more people succumbed to the disease in a day, pushing the death toll to 24,668.
The number of new coronavirus cases and the positivity rate saw a slight increase from Monday's figures. On Sunday, Delhi had recorded 34 fatalities, the lowest in around two months, and 381 cases with a positivity of 0.5 per cent.
The city had reported 60 fatalities on Saturday and 414 new cases of Covid-19 with a positivity rate of 0.53 per cent. The day before, it had recorded 50 deaths and 523 new cases with a positivity rate of 0.68 per cent. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal had on Saturday said the coronavirus situation in Delhi is quite under control.
Kejriwal had held two key meetings on Friday to discuss preparations for the anticipated third wave of the coronavirus pandemic. He held an important meeting with the expert committee and then with the preparation committee later.
Since April 19, both daily cases and single-day death count had registered a worrisome increase in the daily case load . On April 20, Delhi had reported 28,395 cases, the highest in the city since the beginning of the pandemic. On April 22 the case positivity rate was 36.2 per cent, the highest so far. However, the cases have come down considerably after the 2nd wave was brought under control.
