The national Capital recorded 41 fresh cases on Friday while the positivity rate stands at 0.06 per cent, according to data shared by the city health department on Friday.
According to the report, a total of 68,624 tests – 46734 RT-PCR tests and 21,890 rapid antigen tests - were conducted a day ago, the bulletin said.
The death toll due to the coronavirus infection in Delhi has increased to 25,085. The number of cumulative cases on Saturday stood at 1438469. Over 14.12 lakh patients have recovered from the virus.
Delhi battled a brutal second wave of the pandemic in April-May that claimed a massive number of lives, with the issue of oxygen shortage at city hospitals across the city adding to the woes.
The Government has taken steps to increase the number of hospital beds and accommodate up to 37,000 cases a day and become self-reliant in terms of oxygen supply.
An estimated 7,000 ICU beds are also being added at government healthcare facilities in Shalimar Bagh, Kirari, Sarita Vihar, Sultanpuri, Raghuveer Nagar, and GTB Hospital and Chacha Nehru Hospital. At present, there are 10,000 ICU beds in the capital.
