As the Annual High School Certificate, Madhyama, State Open School Certificate examinations scheduled to be held on May 3 were cancelled due to the rising Covid-19 cases, the Board of Secondary Education (BSE) had been asked to come up with an alternative method of assessment to award marks to the candidates.
A notification in this regard was issued by the BSE on Friday stating that the mode of evaluation has been finalised based on four key parameters -- reliability, fairness, flexibility and validity. The teachers should ensure that the evaluation process is clearly understood by all stakeholders. The procedure of assessments would be different for different examinations. Separate procedures would be applied for HSC School Regular (SR) and Quasi Regular (QR) candidates.
These candidates have done offline classes in Class-IX at their schools in 2021 and have appeared for half yearly examination in Class-IX during 2020 and could not appear for all papers in Class-IX annual examination due to Covid. Offline classes were arranged for these candidates in Class-X from January 2021. The BSE has also conducted practical tests during January, February, March and April 2021 for these students.
