A special cleanliness campaign was launched in all the wards of Municipal Corporation, Roorkee.
Municipal commissioner Nupur Verma disclosed that the corporation had received large number of complaints of water logging at various wards due to incessant rains in past few days. “Acting on these complaints we decided to launch a cleanliness campaign in all the wards today”, Verma said.
She apprised that motorpumps were pressed into service to take out water from the water logged localities. Even drains were cleaned and cleaning of public lavoratories was also done as part of the campaign.
Verma also informed that bonfire arrangements have also been done for street dwellers in the Roorkee city taking into account the ongoing harsh winters.
