CM inaugurates 80-bed Covid Care Centre in Ramgarh

Chief Minister, Hemant Soren, inaugurated the Oxygened 80-bed Covid Care Center at DAV School Ghatotand in Mandu block, Ramgarh district, on Monday from his residential office.

On the occasion, he said that mining activities are done by various industrial institutes in most areas of Ramgarh district. The role of industrial groups is important in the control of coronavirus infection in the State.

“Today, with the joint effort of the Government and the Tata Steel Foundation, an 80-bed oxygenated hospital has been inaugurated. I especially thank the officials of the Tata Steel Foundation, West Bokaro. The effort made by the Tata Steel Foundation in this hour of crisis is greatly appreciated. I am confident that the health system in the district will be strengthened by the coordination, commitment and efforts of all of us. With the cooperation of all, this battle will be won,” he said.

Expressing concern about the black fungus, the Chief Minister asked the administration to keep an eye on the problem of black fungus and directed to ensure prompt treatment on the cases so that the infection can be prevented.

The CM said the Government is preparing an action plan to strengthen health systems in all districts, blocks and panchayats. Health circuits are being considered in rural areas, which will improve the situation.

There are plans to provide 2-2 ambulances in all the blocks. He said that oxygen banks are being created in all districts for adequate availability of medical oxygen. In order to break the chain of coronavirus infection in rural areas, the government is ensuring the system of Covid screening through rapid antigen kits.

He added an action plan has been prepared to ensure the treatment of sick people with the support of women of Anganwadi Sevika-Sahayika, Asha Worker, SHG members. Pulse oximeters, health kits and medicines are being made available in all Anganwadi centres of the State, so that patients can get treatment in the initial stages.

As many as 20 lakh rapid antigen kits have been provided to increase corona screening before vaccination in rural areas.

The Covid Care Centre is equipped with four manifold facilities where 16 jumbo oxygen cylinders can further be added. Tata Steel will also provide medicines, PPE kits, biomedical waste management as well as food for patients and basic facilities like cleaning and sanitisation of the Centre.

The Centre also has three bio-toilets in its premises to ensure eco-friendly sanitation. The Centre will also have wheel chair, stretchers and ambulance service for the patients, and an in-built Coviud-19 testing facility. Tata Steel has also provided a team of two doctors, 10 nursing and 10 cleaning staff to the Center. The Company will also depute three technically skilled staff to operate the machines at the Center. This Center also has capacity to expand in the future.

DB Sundara Ramam, Vice President (Raw Materials), Tata Steel, said, “Tata Steel has been working very closely with several government and non-governmental agencies across the country to undertake Covid relief work on a war footing.  The new 80-bed centre at Ghatotand in West Bokaro will also address the growing need for in-patient care in the Ramgarh district. We thank the Government of Jharkhand and various Government agencies that helped in setting up the new centre.”
