Chief Minister Hemant Soren today inaugurated the 11th National Women's Junior Hockey Competition 2021 and laid the foundation stone of the International Hockey Stadium and also distributed assets among beneficiaries on the premises of SS Girls High School, Simdega.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion the CM said that it is an unforgettable day for Simdega as another national level competition is being organised there. “On one hand the 11th National Women's Junior Hockey Competition 2021 is starting. With the aim of making hockey reach its best phase and providing excellent resources to the players, the foundation stone for the construction of an international level hockey stadium is laid”, said the CM.
The Chief Minister said that the government is giving direct appointments to the players who have performed well at the national and international level, making them its part. Continuous work is being done with the resolve to connect the youth of Jharkhand with employment. Today appointment letters were handed over to 79 young men and women.
The CM said National level competition is being organized again. It is a matter of good fortune for the State that hockey players from all over the country have come here. The girls of the country, who show their talent in the country and abroad have come to the land of Simdega today. Players of Jharkhand will get an opportunity to learn a lot. Jharkhand will be known not only for minerals but also for sports. The government will promote sports, he added.
Simdega MLA Bhushan Bara said that the government is doing the work of giving respect to sports and sportspersons. The government has given direct appointment to 39 players. Playgrounds are being constructed at Panchayat, Block and District level across the State.
Kolebira MLA Naman Bixel Kongadi said that sports hold an important place in our lives. Sports reflect collective unity. It is a great means of getting employment. This is the reason why the state government is working for the development of sports. Efforts are being made to provide all possible facilities to the players.
The CM met the players of all the teams participating in the 11th National Women's Junior Hockey Competition 2021 and congratulated them and announced the launch of the competition. 26 teams from across the country are participating in this competition.
