Launching the ‘Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club’ on Saturday, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said the youth would get an opportunity to establish their identity and develop leadership potential. Youth will be able to play a socially responsible and positive role in the progress of the State.
He also released an amount of Rs 19.43 crore to the districts for the formation and operation of Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club in an event organized at the Chief Minister's residencial office.
Prior to the event, the Chief Minister and his cabinet colleagues paid floral tribute to the portrait of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
State government has made a provision of Rs 50 crore in the budget for Rajiv Yuva Mitan Club. Each club will be given Rs one lakh for conducting creative activities in a year at the rate of Rs 25,000 every three months. A grant amounting to Rs 132.69 crore will be given to 13269 clubs in the state during the year, an official communication said.
It is one step of fulfilling the commitment made to youth in the ‘Jan Ghoshna Patra’ (election manifesto) said Chief Minister. He added that with the launching of the scheme, the target is to nurture young talent and provide a suitable platform to realize the dream of former Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi.
Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Umesh Patel termed it as a revolutionary program to organize the youth power of the state and connect them with creative works.
