Small enterprises and self-employment endeavours started in rural areas with government backing have created a new era of self-reliance in Chhattisgarh, Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said on Wednesday.
Baghel was addressing a virtual programme organized at his Raipur residence-cum-office for the Bhoomi Pujan of development works worth Rs 460.14 crores for Surajpur and Korea districts, an official communication stated.
He interacted with students of Swami Atmanand English Medium School, beneficiaries of Godhan Nyay Yojana and Rajiv Gandhi Kisan Nyay Yojana, members of Women Self Help Groups and beneficiaries of various other schemes.
The Chief Minister announced that Cooperative Bank will open a branch at Odgi and Latori area in Surajpur district and a bridge will be built across Banki river on the Sarhari-Singhra-Charampur road.
He also told the Collector to start the construction of a District Hospital Building in Korea and an Adventure Park in Chirmiri at the earliest.
Assembly Speaker Charandas Mahant, who participated virtually in the event, credited Baghel with giving a new impetus to the rural economy through various schemes and programmes.
