CM stress on redressing grievances of people

Thursday, 09 September 2021 | PNS | Lucknow

Taking cognisance of officers showing negligence while performing their duties to redress the grievances raised by people, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered officials to submit a report on the complaints received, resolved along with the action taken in Thana/Tehsil Diwas and the IGRS.

The chief minister said that resolving every grievance was the utmost priority of his government and the purpose behind organising tehsil and thana diwas was to solve the problems of the people at the local level itself.

Chairing a high-level review meeting with senior officials on Wednesday, the chief minister said, “A detailed report regarding complaints received, resolved and pending cases on IGRS (Integrated Grievance Redressal System), tehsils and police stations should be submitted to the Chief Minister's Office without delay. Details of the level of satisfaction of the people should also be provided.”

In this district-wise report, the functioning of each police station and tehsil will be assessed on the basis of complaints received. Along with this, the problems encountered on Janata-Darshan and IGRS portal are also to be included in the report.

This district and department-wise report will become a benchmark for the quality of performance of the field officers. The chief minister himself will review this with the district magistrates and district police chiefs, after which action will be taken against the negligent officers.

In the form of a centralised system, the facility of the IGRS portal is there in the state. Chief Minister’s Janata Darshan is also being organised on a daily basis for grievance redressal. Instructions have been issued that all these programmes should be thoroughly reviewed. The detailed report is being prepared after the instructions of the chief minister.

As per the data, in the last four-and-a-half years, around 18,46,968 complaints have been received on IGRS related to the matters concerning SSP/SP, of which over 18,21,033 have been disposed of. Besides, 22,45,282 complaints have been received on IGRS relating to matters of Tehsil Diwas, of which over 22,16,017 have been resolved.
