Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath will address farmers and distribute agricultural equipment and Kisan credit cards at a programme that aims at reach out to farmers, and address around 25,000 farmers of the state at a Kisan Sammelan in Lucknow on Sunday.
The Kisan Sammelan is a part of the ambitious Mission Kisan Kalyan of Uttar Pradesh government.
To be held at the Defence Expo Ground, the chief minister will interact with farmers in the Kisan Sammelan and an exhibition will also be organised. The distribution of agricultural tools, Kisan credit card and soil health cards will also be done at the event.
Along with the chief minister, Bharatiya Janata Party state president Swatantra Dev Singh, Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi and Sugarcane Minister Suresh Rana will also participate in the programme.
Official sources claimed that the Yogi government has transformed the agriculture sector in Uttar Pradesh with its commitment to double their income.
A record payment to over Rs 1.44 lakh crore has been made to more than 45.74 lakh cane farmers in the state in the last four-and-a-half years. The government has also waived loans of 86 lakh small and marginal farmers to the tune of Rs 36,000 crore.
More than 433.86 lakh metric tons of food grains have been procured by the government and over Rs 79,000 crore have been paid to about 78.23 lakh farmers. Under Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana of the Central government, around 18 lakh farmers have been given Rs 32,521 crore.
Similarly, more than two crore farmers are associated with Pradhan Mantri Fasal Bima Yojana and a compensation of Rs 2,376 crore has been given to more than 25.60 lakh farmers under this scheme.
