Saturday, 25 September 2021 | Staff Reporter | RAIPUR

The Chhattisgarh government has told all District Collectors to release within a month Rs 50,000 as ex-gratia to families of those who died due to Covid-19. This has to be paid under the Disaster Relief Fund (DRF).

The instructions followed a ruling of the Supreme Court and directives from the Disaster Management Authority.

In a circular issued by the Secretary (Revenue), Disaster Management and Relief Commissioner, Rita Shandilya instructed the Collectors to take immediate action.

According to data from the Health Department, the Covid death toll in the state stood at 13,563 till September 22 this year. The families must claim the compensation by applying to the Collector.
