An elderly farmer of Munegli district on Saturday blessed Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel saying he must continue to rule Chhattisgarh as he has proved to be a friend of the poor.
Lekhchand Patel poured out his innermost feelings when the Chief Minister virtually interacted with farmers and villagers of Mungeli at a public dedication and construction work inauguration. Patel said that he, like many others, was burdened with agriculture loans before the farm loan waiver scheme and the Rajiv Gandhi Kisaan Nyay Yojana helped him come out of the debt trap.
He said the Godhan Nyay Yojana had brought about major changes in the lives of farmers and villagers. Addressing Baghel as a ‘Son of Farmer’ in Chhattisgarhi, Patel said: “I have not seen a Chief Minister like this. Small and big farmers are happy. Success has touched my life. I now get double the cost for paddy. Earlier, it was a life of pain. Now the whole family is happy.”
Patel said the profits earned through farming and the support of the Kisaan Nyay Yojana had helped him buy a two-wheeler.
