Third convocation ceremony of B.R. Ambedkar University of Social Science, Mhow was organised on Friday under the Chairpersonship of Governor M.P. and the Chancellor of the University.
Usha Thakur, Minister, Department of Tourism, Culture was the Chief Guest of the Ceremony. Prof. Sachchidanand Joshi, Member Secretary, IGNCA, New Delhi delivered the Convocation Address. Chhatarsingh Darbar , M.P. Dhar and Shankar Lalwani, M.P. Indore were also attended the Ceremony as Special Guests. The Convocation Ceremony was started with garlanding the Statues of Lord Buddha and Ambedkar by the Distinguished Guests. Vice Chancellor welcomed all guests with Shawls and Shree Phals.
Chancellor Madam has stated in her address that education is bound to be done by supporting parents and family. There are also families in the society whose first child in the family is getting a doctorate degree is the result of the hard work of their parents that the he has got degree. For a self-reliant India, first we have to become self-sufficient for which you will have to train yourself.
She further said that the person who is seeking employment is not going to give employment to other people. Education should not be merely getting Degree but earning ability to serve the society. Ambedkar like intellectual personalities have given a lot to the society. There are many obstacles in society, we do not have to give up. She said that Ambedkar University has been established on the basis of Baba Saheb's Philosophy to eradicate social evils like child labor and dowry. "Beti Bachao Beti Padhao slogan called upon the people to spread this campaign. Students are the medium of social change. She urged the students not to commit any mistake that will tarnish the reputation of the family and the society.
While giving the convocation address, Sachchidanand Joshi said that this university, known as a pilgrimage study centre of social science is definitely playing its important role in nation building. It is a matter of pride that this University has established in the name of versatile and intellectual personality like Ambedkar at his birth place. It is time and duty of social scientists to boost the morale and restructuring of the of society after the crisis of Covid pandemic.
