Police are active and alert in front of different banks to prevent snatching incidents.By this time, most of the farmers have sold their paddy in the market yards of the district. As per the decision of the Government, money is directly deposited in the bank accounts of the farmers instead of giving them cash to avoid fraudulent practices. Hence, farmers are coming to the banks, withdrawing money. So they could easily fall prey to the unscrupulous elements who wait for such opportunities. “It is seen that most of people come from banks with money in hand and count it outside. When snatchers see them in this condition, they rob them of their hard earned money,” said Sambalpur SP B Gangadhar. “Knowing innocent act of famers, we have decided to deploy police in front of banks where farmers have accounts or Kissan Credit Cards.
