Following the arrest of an HCS officer posted as Deputy Secretary of the Haryana Public Service Commission (HPSC) and two others for allegedly manipulating marks of candidates who appeared in a recruitment examination for dental surgeons, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Friday said that the State Government is determined to completely wipe out corruption.
“Wherever complaints of corruption are received, immediate action is taken by the government. It is the result of this that the Vigilance Bureau has taken action by recovering Rs 1 crore from the Deputy Secretary of HPSC,” Khattar said while talking to the mediapersons in Karnal district. He said that corruption was at its peak during the regimes of the opposition. Earlier, no action was taken on such people by the government, he added.
The Chief Minister reiterated that corruption will not be allowed to flourish under any circumstances and a corrupt person will not be spared.
The State Vigilance Bureau had on Thursday night arrested 2016-batch HCS (Haryana Civil Services) officer Anil Nagar, posted as Deputy Secretary in HPSC. The recruitment examination for dental surgeons was conducted by the HPSC on September 26. After an FIR was registered in the case on November 17, a raid was conducted and one Naveen Kumar from Bhiwani district was caught red-handed accepting Rs 20 lakh cash.
Based on his confession and other evidence obtained during investigation, the vigilance officials further arrested Ashwani Sharma, a resident of Jhajjar district, and seized cash worth Rs 1.07 crore when his house was searched. After the scam came to the fore, the State Government has come under severe criticism from the opposition.
Attacking the State Government, Congress general secretary Randeep Singh Surjewala said that this is the biggest proof of rigging in jobs and recruitment in Haryana.
