The court of Special Judge of SC ST of Ranchi civil court has ordered to institute an FIR against Ranchi (City) SP Saurabh, DSP Pramod Kumar Mishra, officer-in-charge of Ranchi SC-ST police station Radha Raman and a private person Pankaj Mishra in connection with the viral audio clips damaging reputation of deceased Jharkhand police SI Rupa Tirkey.

The CBI is investigating the case of Rupa Tirkey following the order of the Jharkhand High Court who was found dead at her official quarter in Sahebganj district in suspicious circumstances on May 3.

"Certain audio clips related to Rupa Tirkey became viral out of which some clips were deliberately leaked by the police, which was against the dignity of a woman who is no more. Rupa's mother Padmavati Orain visited the ST-SC police station in Ranchi to lodge the FIR against DSP Mishra who was posted at Barharwa in Sahebganj beside Pankaj Mishra but the officer denied taking the case. The victim’s mother also approached Ranchi SP but he did not help the victim. She ultimately lodged a court complaint. The court after going details of the case passed the order on November 26 the copy to which the complainant has received on Wednesday," said Jharkhand High Court lawyer Rajeev Kumar who had fought the case of Rupa Tirkey at Jharkhand High Court.

Kumar further explained the reasons behind the court directing to lodge FIR against Ranchi (City) SP and SC-ST police station. "Regarding the SC-ST case, there is a Supreme Court ruling where concerned police are bound to lodge an FIR. If the concerned officer refuses to lodge FIR then he/she will be treated as accused. The court has passed the order exercising its power under section 156 (3) of CrPC," he said.

Some of the audio clips contain private conversations of some intimate moments of Rupa Tirkey with her colleague and boyfriend Shiv Kumar Kanaujia. The family alleged her daughter was murdered at the behest of Pankaj Mishra closely connected with the Jharkhand government. It further alleged that police deliberately leaked these audios to tarnish her image and to save Pankaj Mishra.  

Another audio is related to the conversation of DSP with a resident of Sahebganj. DSP can be heard using foul language and passing the sexiest remarks against Rupa. Besides, DSP also used abusive language against Jharkhand BJP president Deepak Prakash and former CM Babulal Marandi.
