Governor Mangubhai Patel unveiled a special cover and Virupan Muhar issued by the Department of Posts on 6 unsung heroes of Madhya Pradesh on Philately Day at Raj Bhavan today.
Patel said that the history of our country is full of tales of the sacrifices of such patriots, who have given a new direction to the country. The society gets inspiration and encouragement by honoring such heroes and heroines. The future generation gets the determination and inspiration to serve the society, state and country. He appreciated the efforts of the Department of Posts to issue a special cover on the unheard heroes and heroines of the state.
The Governor inaugurated the program by lighting the lamp. He unveiled a special cover of the Department of Posts on national heroes of the state including Tantya Bhil, Ganesh Prasad Varni, Hari Vishnu Kamath, Ratan Kumar Gupta, Sahodara Bai Rai and Radha Devi Azad.
Regarding the Amrit Mahotsav and special cover, Chief Post Master General Jitendra Gupta informed that postal stamps are issued by the Department of Posts to make a special occasion, person and event unforgettable. In case of non-issuance of tickets in special circumstances, special cover is issued. He said that a special cover has been issued to commemorate the contribution of the nation's heroes who contributed to the independence of the state.
Director Headquarters S. Shivram told that the National Postal Week is organized in October. The products of the department are promoted during the week. This year from 11 to 17 October the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated by the department.
Under this, a special cover has been issued in the memory of unheard heroes and heroines of the state. Assistant Director Business Shri Chandresh Jain proposed vote of thanks.
