Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has stressed on focus testing of COVID-19 and has said that testing work has an important role in breaking the coronavirus infection chain.

He said keeping this in mind more and more Covid tests should be done. He also said that it should be ensured that not less than 1.25 lakh tests were conducted per day in the state.

The chief minister made these observations while reviewing the unlock at a high-level meeting at his official residence here on Friday.

He said that extra vigilance should be taken in the state in view of the increase in coronavirus positive cases in some states. He said in Uttar Pradesh, arrangements should be made to ensure contact tracing and quarantine of people coming from outside states.

The chief minister also said that an effective system should be maintained in relation to the prevention and treatment of COVID-19.

He said integrated command and control centres established in the districts should be actively operated and people should be constantly made aware about preventive measures to keep coronavirus at bay.
