The state health department reported 49 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 33 recoveries from the disease on Wednesday. No death from the disease was reported on the day in the state.
The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,43,310 while a total of 3,29,554 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state, 7389 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is at 95.99 while the sample positivity rate on Wednesday was 0.26 per cent.
The state health department reported 20 new patients of Covid -19 from Pauri, 10 from Dehradun, five from Uttarkashi, four from Pithoragarh, two each from Champawat, Haridwar and Udham Singh Nagar and one each from Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli and Nainital districts on Wednesday. No new cases of the disease were reported from Rudraprayag and Tehri districts on the day.
The state now has 296 active cases of Covid-19. Dehradun with 148 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 29 active cases. Tehri has no active case of the disease.
In the ongoing vaccination drive 62,056 people were vaccinated in 969 sessions in the state held on Wednesday. As per the data of the state health department 70,92,429 people in the state have received the first dose of vaccine while 24,72,389 have received both doses of the vaccine.
