The state health department reported only six new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 15 recoveries from the disease in Uttarakhand on Sunday. No death from the disease was reported on the day in the state.  Incidentally nine districts of the state reported no new case of the disease on Sunday.

The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,43,382 while a total of 3,29,634 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state, 7390 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is at 96 while the sample positivity rate on Saturday was 0.04 per cent.

The state health department reported three new patients of Covid -19 from Dehradun and one each from Haridwar, Nainital and Pithoragarh on Sunday. No new cases of the disease were reported from remaining nine districts of the state on the day.

The state now has 273 active cases of Covid-19. Dehradun with 132 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 31 active cases. Tehri now has no active case of the disease.

In the ongoing vaccination drive 48,798 people were vaccinated in 550 sessions in the state held on Sunday. As per the data of the state health department 72,19,539 people in the state have received the first dose of vaccine while 27,34,882 have received both doses of the vaccine. In the week ending September 18, the authorities reported 165 cases of the disease but during this period only 1,25,576 tests were carried out which is 55 per cent less than the weekly target.
