Covid-19: Two deaths, 14 new cases in U’khand

The state health department reported only 14 new cases of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) and 23 recoveries from the disease in Uttarakhand on Friday. Death of two patients was reported from the disease on the day. The cumulative count of Covid-19 patients in the state is now at 3,43,459 while a total of 3,29,738 patients have recovered from the disease so far. In the state, 7393 people have lost their lives to Covid -19 till date. The recovery percentage from the disease is at 96.01 while the sample positivity rate on Friday was 0.09 per cent.

The state health department reported four new patients of Covid -19 from Dehradun and Nainital, two each Champawat and Haridwar and one each from Pauri and Tehri districts on Friday. No new cases of the disease were reported from Almora, Bageshwar, Chamoli, Pithoragarh, Rudraprayag, Udham Singh Nagar and Uttarkashi districts on the day.

The state now has 238 active cases of Covid-19. Dehradun with 117 cases is at the top of the table of active cases while Pauri has 28 active cases. Tehri and Bageshwar have only two active cases of the disease now.  In the ongoing vaccination drive 52,502 people were vaccinated in 932 sessions in the state held on Friday. As per the data of the state health department 72,07,174 people in the state have received the first dose of vaccine while 29,60,862 have received both doses of the vaccine.  On Friday Dehradun district achieved the target of 100 per cent vaccination. The district had a target to vaccinate 14,27,997 people and it has so far administered the first dose to 14,28,102 people.
