Covid-19 contagion on the wane in U’khand

The contagion of the novel Coronavirus (Covid-19) is clearly on decline in Uttarakhand. On Tuesday the state health department reported only 116 cases of the disease. The state now has 95039 cases of the disease. The department also reported the death of two patients on Tuesday which increased the death tally to 1619 in the state.  The health authorities discharged 251 patients from different hospitals of the state following their recovery. A total of 90133 patients have so far recovered from the disease. The recovery percentage in the state now stands at 94.84 percent and the sample positivity rate is 4.74 percent.

On Tuesday one patient each of the disease was reported dead at Mahant Indiresh hospital Dehradun and Sushila Tiwari government hospital Haldwani.

Out of 251 patients recovered on the day, 63 belonged to Dehradun while 55 were from Nainital.

The health department reported 55 new cases of the disease in Dehradun, 28 in Nainital, 11 in Almora, eight in Uttarkashi, seven in Haridwar, four in Pithoragarh and one each in Bageshwar, Rudraprayag and Udham Singh Nagar. No case of the disease was reported from Chamoli, Champawat, Pauri and Tehri on Tuesday.

Uttarakhand now has 1992 active cases of the disease. Dehradun is continuing to remain at top of the table with 483 active cases while with 364 active cases Nainital is at second spot. Haridwar is at third position with 247 cases, Almora has 141, Bageshwar 136, Udham Singh Nagar 116, Tehri 106, Chamoli 102, Uttarkashi 93, Pithoragarh 81, Pauri 65 and Rudraprayag 33 active cases of the disease. With only 25 active cases of Covid-19, Champawat is at the bottom of the table.
