Chief General Manager (CRM-3) Rajan Prasad felicitated the personnel who revived four base fan motors from old scrap motors in CRM-3 of BSL by presenting Certificate of Appreciation and memento. On this occasion General Manager (CRM-3) Akhouri Ashok Kumar, General Manager (ERS) BK Rai along with other officers and personnel of CRM-3 were present.
Base fan is used in the Bell Annealing Furnace of CRM-3, a part of which remains in the furnace. Due to excessive heat, the shaft of the motor was getting bent hence the fans were damaged.
At present the suppliers of this fan were expressing their inability to supply. To overcome this problem, a team was formed under the guidance of CGM (CRM-3) Rajan Prasad, GM (CRM-3) Prabhat Ranjan, and GM (ERS) BK Rai In which AGM (CRM-3) Pankaj Lata, AGM (CRM-3) Madhu BN and various members jointly examined the various aspects of the problem closely. After that drawing was made with the help of reverse engineering and four shafts were manufactured and tested with their own internal resources which are now working satisfactorily and allowed to overcome this problem hence productivity was also maintained. Encouraging the workers on the occasion, Rajan Prasad said that this joint effort of the team would not only increase the availability of base fans, but would also save the plant cost of about Rs 60 lakhs.
