Vigilance officials on Saturday arrested a Senior Clerk posted at the office of Chief Conservator of Forest (Kendu Leaf), Cuttack on the charge of amassing disproportionate assets amounting to over Rs 1.50 crore.
During raids conducted on Friday, the anti-graft agency had found properties worth over Rs 3 crore in the name of the clerk Dillip Kumar Jena, a native of Ratanpur village under the Gandia police limits in Dhenkanal district. He was staying at Government quarters at Ghatikia in Bhubaneswar.
Properties detected include a triple-storied building worth Rs 1.8 crore located at Mallick Complex in Jagmara and gold jewellery, vehicles, cash amounting to over Rs 2 crore.
The disproportionate assets were estimated to be 252 per cent higher than his income. Further investigation was underway, said an official.
