The CSIR laboratories including the CIMFR, that has entered into 75th year of its existence are working to meet the standards of Paris declaration on Climate change ,said Dr. Shekhar C. Mande,
Director General CSIR, Secretary DSIR, Govt of India to media persons here at CIMFR campus on Sunday.
The Dhanbad based lab CIMFR that has set records in mining technology besides other plans are working hard to contain the rise in temperature between 1 to 1.5 Degree Celsius as per the Paris declaration.
He said the CIMFR is also working on other technologies that include making petroleum products from coal and gasification of coal.
The institution is also working to store power up to 100 megawatts of power in cooperation with a company based in South India.
The CISR is working on developing ACs that can purify air circulation in a room to fight Corona virus. The trial of the technology is on . This can help fight this virus in meeting halls, malls, cinema halls, hospitals and other locations, said Dr Mande.
Dr Mande said the CSIR labs of country have helped control of Corona in country.
The lab directors had chalked out five step strategy to meet all related demands to fight Corona.
He also gave details of the difference stages of trails of the two corona vaccines that have been introduced in country for mass vaccination.
“ Both of them are safe for human though have been manufactured from different processes”, said the CISR director general.
CIMFR director Dr PK Singh informed that his lab has launched project of potential gas mapping of coal of different companies under CIL. The work at BCCL, SECL and CCL have been completed and by end of the current year such mapping of remaining of the subsidiary companies of CIL would be completed. This would help country in gasification of up to 100 million tons of coal in country by2030, added Dr Singh.
