Cultural event ‘Sur Dhara’ held under ‘Art World’

Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) Regional Office, organised a programme of ‘Sur Dhara’ was organized under the Art World - Special campaign under the online Horizon series.

An artist Surendra Swarnakar from Ujjain gave his scintillating and graceful online performance in the musical evening of flute playing at ICCR, Bhopal.

He performed Alap, Jod, Jhala in Raga Yaman. Drutgat in middle Teentaal, Gat in Teentaal. Melodic playing in the chakkar dar third. In Raga Pahadi, Madhyalay Kaharwa and Drutalaya Kaharwa.

At the end of the programme he played a melodious tone on flute.In today's online presentation programme, he was accompanied by Arun Kushwaha on tabla.

 Surendra Swarnakar got the inspiration for playing flute from his parents. Received the initial education of flute playing from  Smita Reddy, Ujjain. At present, he is taking formal education of flute playing in Mumbai from Padmavibhushan Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, a well-known flute player of Mehr Gharana.

He passed the Sangeet Prabhakar examination in flute playing from Prayag Sangeet Samiti Allahabad. He received Mrs. Pannadevi Sangeet Scholarship from Vrindavan Charitable Trust Mumbai of Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasiaji for two years.
