A virtual industrial tour was organised by the Department of Business Management of the Central University of Orissa (CUO) on Thursday on the topic “A peep into the working of an aviation industry in India.”

Prof P Durgaprasad, Visiting Professor, Department of Sociology, Prof Sharat Kumar Palita, Dean, School of Biodiversity and Conservation of Natural Resources and Dr Ram Shankar, Controller of Examinations delivered their valuable remarks about the industrial tour. The programme was conducted by Ashish Roy, Academic consultant, CUO. Vice-Chancellor Prof I Ramabrahmam conveyed his best wishes for a successful programme.  The opening remark was given by Prof  P Durgaprasad where he emphasised on the importance of strategic management to determine the vision and goal of an organisation.

Prof Sharat Kumar Palita encouraged all by saying that strategic management is important in all the spheres of life and Dr Ram Shankar put his words forward by reflecting on how work and the place of work are important for all and an industrial tour plays an important role in the curriculum. Ashish Kumar Roy motivated the budding managers to take challenges as an opportunity during the adverse conditions through his presentation and videos.

The presentation gave an insight about the history of aviation industry, importance of business strategy, importance of decision making and role of statistics and analytics for future job market. It was followed by an interesting discussion session.
