The new Vice Chancellor of Doon University Surekha Dangwal has said that all the teachers, officers and employees of the university should inculcate the spirit of team work to develop the university as a unique centre of education and research.
She assumed the charge of her office on Tuesday. The VC said that her priority would be to ensure that the students of the state are not forced to go out of the state for higher education. On her arrival in the university, Dangwal was welcomed by dean student welfare H C Purohit and registrar M S Mandrawal. Before taking over the reins of the university, Dangwal planted sapling of Arjun and Aonla ( Phyllanthus emblica) tree in the newly developed medicinal plants garden. The garden was developed in less than one month time on the initiative of the VC of Uttarakhand Ayurveda University Sunil Kumar who was handed over additional charge of VC of Doon University in the month of December. Large number of faculty members, officers and employees of the university were present on the occasion.
