The district administration is unhappy over the alleged indifferent attitude of the doctors and Paramedical staff of BCCL towards Covid duty.
Dhanbad deputy commissioner US Singh in his letter to the BCCL CMD has expressed deep concerns over non compliance of duty location in covid wards at different hospitals of the company .
Several of the doctors of the company were deliberately refusing duty allocation on silly health grounds despite emergency requirements due to pandemic, the DC wrote to CMD with a request to take disciplinary action.
It’s worth mentioning that during the first wave of covid last year too a similar situation had arisen at Central hospital based dedicated covid hospital. Then DC had written a letter to the CMD BCCL for action against company doctors for not taking up covid ward duty seriously.
However , somehow the matter was sorted out .This time the management has taken no action as yet against any of the doctors who were identified or not attending covid patients despite duty allocation.
Meanwhile, relatives of a patient admitted to central hospital created ruckus on hospital premises following death of the patient on Monday. They alleged that no doctor attended the patient and he died soon after the nurse on duty injected some injection.
Police and CISF personnel had to intervene to maintain law and order .
