Dehradun district magistrate R Rajesh Kumar warned Tehsildar (Sadar) of action against him if the working conditions of Tehsil do not get better soon. He warned the Tehsildar on Friday during his surprise inspection of Tehsil, Dehradun.
Since the new DM has joined the office, he has been inspecting the services provided by departments and offices under the district administration and during each inspection so far, he has been disappointed with their work and working methods. In the recent inspection of the Tehsil, Kumar found several irregularities like improper seating arrangement in offices, unhygienic premises, pending work and incomplete attendance data of employees and officials. There were also no proper records of what field officials do in the field all day. Inspecting the files of pending work, the DM asked the officials to clear the backlog soon and directed them to finish the work like issuing domicile, salary certificate, caste certificate etc within seven days. He directed the officials to mention the name, mobile phone number, designation and the name of the area at the seating place of employees and officials in order to make it easy for the public to approach them. Moreover, he also directed Mussoorie Dehradun Development Authority (MDDA) to repair the lift in Tehsil premises soon in order to make the services in Tehsil easily accessible for people like differently-abled, pregnant women and senior citizens. Kumar stressed that all such officials who do not work properly in their respective jobs in the district will have to face consequences.
