Don’t let the guard down against Covid, says CM

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that while the vaccination against the novel coronavirus was underway, one should not let the guard down against COVID-19 and directed the authorities concerned to ensure that the vaccination programme was carried out on Thursday and Friday as per the guidelines and sequence spelt out by the Government of India.

He also directed officials to ensure that all preparations for the second phase of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign were in place as per scheduled timelines.

The chief minister was on Monday reviewing the COVID-19 unlock at a high level meeting at Lok Bhawan in the state capital.

He said that COVID-19 vaccination work was to be undertaken twice a week, on Thursday and Friday. 

In the first phase of the vaccination drive, all health workers were to be administered the vaccine dose in the next three weeks, he said.

From February 15, the second dose of the vaccine is to be administered to all those who got the first shot in the first phase of the vaccination programme.

The chief minister underlined that Covid tests had played a key role in containing the spread of the novel coronavirus and asked officials to ensure that surveillance and contact tracing was carried out effectively. He said that at least 1.50 lakh Covid tests should be done every day.

The chief minister said that adequate arrangements for antigen tests must be ensured at Arogya Mela. 

He said that information regarding Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Mukhya Mantri Jan Arogya Abhiyan should be provided during Arogya Mela and golden cards of these schemes should also be distributed to the eligible beneficiaries. 

He said that people should be constantly made aware of coronavirus and sensitised on ways to contain it. 

The chief minister added that adequate availability of oxygen with backup, all essential medicines, medical equipment should be ensured at Covid hospitals. 

He said that necessary arrangements for fire safety should also be ensured in all government and private hospitals.

The Chief Minister directed officials to ensure smooth and effective operation of ‘102’ and ‘108’ ambulance services and said that the needy people should get ambulance service within the time fixed for the service.
