Don't share content that spark fear: Durg admin

Thursday, 08 April 2021 | Staff Reporter | DURG

After a video showed bodies of Covid-19 victims piled up in a mortuary in Chhattisgarh’s Durg district hospital, the administration on Wednesday urged people not to share fear inducing content without confirmation.

The Durg administration clarified that bodies from nearby districts also reached the mortuary of Durg district hospital. This meant that the number of bodies is always more compared to the deaths due to Corona in Durg, a press release said.

Such videos create an atmosphere of fear in the society and weaken the war against Covid-19, the release said.

Durg district is witnessing a major Coronavirus infection.

Additional oxygen beds are being arranged by the district administration every day and Covid care centers have been started with the help of social organizations with   oxygen beds facilities, it said.

The Durg administration has imposed a nine-day lockdown from April 6 to 14. On Tuesday, 1,838 people in Durg were among the 9,921 people detected Coronavirus positive in the state.
