Junior Chamber International (JCI), Ranchi wing celebrated International Women's Day on Monday in the State Capital. Noted ophthalmologist of the State Dr Bharti Kashyap was the Chief Guest of the programme.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion Kashyap said, “We’ve learned to compromise with everything in our lives. Friends, this stereotype behaviour needs to be changed right now. It needs to be challenged. Challenge everything that you’re deprived of whether it is your right to education, your right to freedom, your right to take your own decisions, your right to voice out your opinion or your right to live freely and liberally like any other human being in the world. Challenging something friends is the first step to change. So, let’s all choose to challenge ourselves.
Giving some tips to the women Kashyap said, "Don’t hesitate, whether you are a young girl in a classroom or a woman waiting to launch a business idea, do not hesitate to raise your hand or wait to be heard don't be afraid of anything and just go ahead and make your point, failure is not a weakness and it’s a sign that you’re trying. How you perceive failure is important. Don’t take career hits personally. Cultivate confidence to embrace mistakes and transform them into learning experiences."
She said that bringing issues to light and solutions to issues like gender bias or other inequalities against women can be openly discussed with men as well, be ambitious and express your goals and ambitions and strive for executive leadership roles. Have faith in your capabilities, she said.
"Talk about your achievements and don't downplay your accomplishments rather highlight them to set an example to others to follow and learn from and support and help each other to grow," said Kashyap.
On this occasion JCI, Ranchi gave two food carts to women. Women Wing President Kanchan Maheshwari, Secretary Sheetal Sharma, JCI President Gaurav Agarwal were present.
