Dry run for Covid-19 vaccine rollout in Haryana

Haryana Health Department on Thursday successfully conducted a dry run of the COVID-19 vaccine roll out in 22 districts in which 3,300 beneficiaries were included and 132 sessions were held at six identified session sites (3 urban, including slum and 3 rural sites) in each district.

Several end-to-end activities like identification of vaccinators and supervisors, identification of session sites with PIN code tagging , and sending of messages to beneficiaries for COVID-19 vaccination were smoothly carried out during this dry run.

Additional Chief Secretary, Health, Rajeev Arora said that the dry run was closely monitored and at one of the sites in rural areas in District Gurugram, World Health Organization (WHO) Country Head (India), Dr. Roderico H Ofrin was present.

6 COVID-19 DEATHS, 274 FRESH CASES IN HARYANA

Haryana on Thursday reported six more fatalities linked to the coronavirus, bringing the death toll to 2940, while the infection count mounted to 2,64,161 with 274 fresh cases, according to a state health department bulletin.

One each death due to COVID-19 was reported from Gurugram, Faridabad, Hisar, Karnal, Kurukshetra and Jind districts, the health department's daily bulletin said.  Gurugram (82) and Faridabad (37) were among other districts which reported fresh cases of the novel coronavirus, it said. The number of active COVID-19 cases in the state stands at 2563, while 2,58,658 people have so far been discharged after recovering from the infection. Haryana has a COVID-19 recovery rate of 97.92 per cent, the bulletin said.

2 DEATHS, 43 CASES IN CHANDIGARH

Two more residents succumbed to the COVID-19 as 43 fresh positive cases were reported in Chandigarh on Thursday.  “With this, the total case tally reached 20147 and the death toll stood at 325 in the city, as per the Chandigarh Health Department’s evening bulletin.

As per the bulletin, there were 240 active cases till the evening.  57 patients have recovered in the past 24 hours pushing the total number of recoveries to 19582. Among 43 fresh cases, 27 were males and 16 were females.  A maximum of six positive cases were detected in Manimajra, it stated.  1.89 lakh samples have so far been tested in the city. A total of 1347 tests were conducted in the last 24 hours.
