East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) has taken strict action against property tax defaulters by issuing notices to property tax defaulters and sealing 12 properties over non-payment of taxes.A senior EDMC official said “It has come to notice that a large number of commercial property holders such as banquet halls, Baraat Ghars, hotels etc have not paid their property tax despite several deadlines passed. In view of this, an intensive drive has been launched against the defaulter commercial property holders and action has also been taken after inspection.” “Recently, a total of 170 warning letters have been issued by the EDMC under section 123 against property tax defaulters. Apart from this, sealing notices have also been issued to 12 property holders.
