Eight persons involved in supplying firearms and other goods useful for Naxalites were arrested from Kiranpur area of Balaghat; accused have supplied 8-10 firearms in the past one year to the Naxals said IG Anti-Naxal Operations Sajid Fareed Shapu
Taking swift action after receiving information district police tracked the suspicious persons who were carrying massive firearms over two-wheelers.The firearms were meant to be used for attacking security forces which was revealed in the investigation.
In the interrogation accused were identified as Sanjay Naji Bhai Chitrajhoda of Mumbai, Rohit Shiva Bhai Butani of Mumbai, Ghanshyam Shivlal of Anchle of Gondia Maharashtra, Vijay Jeevan Koreti of Gondia Maharashtra, Shakil Khan resident of Kota Rajasthan, Wajid Tethri of Kota Rajasthan, Tausif of Jhalawar Rajasthan and Jitendra Kumar Agarwal of Jhalawar Rajasthan.
During the investigation police have found that the illegal weapons and explosive materials were collected from Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan and transported to the Naxalites. The material was arranged by accused Sanjay and Rohit through their associates Shakil, Wajid, Tauseef and Jitendra present in Rajasthan. All the above accused used to transport illegal weapons and explosive material to the Naxal teams operating in the tri-junction of Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh through Ghanshyam and Vijay, residents of Gondia. The accused confessed a benefit of Rs 25 lakh paid for supplies.
Naxalites of Tanda Dalam, Malajkhand Dalam, Darrekasa Dalam and Extension Platoon-02, Extension Platoon-03 and Khatiya Mocha Area Committee active in Balaghat district were supplied with weapons, explosives, night vision, binoculars, high-range torches, tactical shoes.
The police have recovered 3 Pistol, 3 Magazine, 1 Magazine AK 47 Unfurnished, 8 Gelatin Rod, 20 Feet About Condex Red Color, Mobile Android, Innova Vehicle, Skoda Vehicle, 9 LED Torch, 2 Torch, 1 Nos of Umbrella, 1 Air Pump, 1 MP3 Player, 3 Purse, 1 Safari Suitcase, 3 Bags filled with clothes, 1 Pair T-shirt & Pants and 06 Tents have been seized.
