Sunday, 28 November 2021 | PNS | DALTONGANJ

Special summary revision of the electoral roll going on in Palamu is  not satisfactory observed the state chief electoral officer K Ravi Kumar  who reached Daltonganj to take stock of special summary revision said sources.

Speaking to this correspondent K Ravi Kumar said the performance so far in Palamu is not satisfactory as right from BLO(booth level officer) down to top this work does not get the right care and attention.

There is no mobilisation by the administration here for this special summary revision which has begun from November 1 and will continue upto December 15 said the state chief electoral officer.

He said the updating of the electoral roll help to a great extent in the panchayat election.

Asked if the lackadaisical attitude is because of any non availability of the forms etc to which the state chief electoral officer K Ravi Kumar said very emphatically there is no question of any non availability of forms as BLOs have with them 400 to 500 of the forms with them.

K Ravi Kumar later visited the YSN Mahila college in Daltonganj and interfaced with the students there.

Here was held a quiz on the election, democracy, voting etc in which the girl students took keen interest said the professor in charge of the YSN Mahila college Dr Mohini Gupta.

A student who is going to be 18 even on January 1,2022 is free and welcome to enrol himself as voters.
