Protesting against the dillydallying attitude of the State Government, the United Parents’ Associations’ Forum (UPAF) has demanded that the Government immediately ask the managements of private schools to follow the High Court’s order on school fees.
A delegation of the forum has already discussed details on the issue with Mass Education Director Pradip Kumar Das and has submitted a memorandum. The delegation urged the Government to take action against the erring private educational institutions and schools which have violated the HC order. The UPAF has since long been demanding to reduce the already-hiked school fees on the ground of the problems arising out of the Covid pandemic.A tripartite agreement was reached among parents’ associations, schools and the Government on the HC’s direction, but it has not been carried out, UPAF president Sanjukta Panigrahi. Before submitting the memorandum, the parents had staged a demonstration before the Directorate office.
