Ensure strict compliance with road safety rules: CM Yogi

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has directed officials to ensure strict compliance with road safety rules in view of fog during the inclement weather in the winters.

He also directed all the district magistrates and district police chiefs to ensure all necessary arrangements for the safe movement of vehicles in accident-prone areas in their respective districts.

The chief minister was reviewing the works of various departments in a review meeting held at his official residence here on Sunday.

He also asked the officials to increase the number of common service centres (CSC) in the state.

The chief minister said that with the installation of CSC, government services would be easily accessible to the citizens near their place of residence and their time and money would also be saved.

“Once the new common service centres start operating, a large number of employment opportunities will be available from urban, semi-urban areas to remote gram panchayats of the state,” he said.

The chief minister said that sugarcane was an important cash crop of UP and currently sugarcane was being cultivated by over 45 lakh farmers.

Sugarcane production has increased due to the continuous efforts of the state government, he pointed out while directing the officials concerned to ensure high-yielding crops are provided to sugarcane farmers for sowing.

The chief minister instructed officials to take swift action for the construction of Uttar Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority building. He said this would help the State Disaster Management Authority to improve its functioning.

He said that the areas affected by various disasters should be identified by the

State Disaster Management Authority and the residents of the identified areas should be made aware of the precautions to be taken at the time of disaster and imparted training on disaster prevention measures.
