ESL supplies LMO to Jharkhand for community well-being

Sunday, 16 May 2021 | PNS | Bokaro

ESL Steel Limited, a national steel player in the Vedanta Group, has started supplying oxygen to help critical Covid patients in Bokaro and Dhanbad.

As per the district administrations ' requirements, we are supplying medical oxygen, informed a Public Relations Official of ESL.

To ease the Covid crisis in Jharkhand, ESL has been at the forefront to offer help by producing oxygen and supplying it to the affected community members. The company intends to continue the supply of LMO (Liquid Medical Oxygen) unless the situation gets better, said the official.

Earlier this month, ESL registered its plant at Siyaljori near Bokaro for liquid medical oxygen supply based on the MOHFW and Steel Ministry requirements. The Vedanta Group aligned with the government’s initiatives to supplement its efforts in tackling the second wave of the pandemic.

SDO Chas Shashi Ranjan Singh showed a green flag to the first round of tanker supply to Bokaro during his recent visit to the ESL plant.

On his visit, Singh also discussed various ESL initiatives, including vaccination camps, liquid oxygen supply, and medical kit distribution to help the infected employees. His discussions were well received by the employees and the stakeholders who felt motivated to remain consistent in their efforts in fighting the pandemic.

The SDO, who personally controls the activity under the Disaster Management Act, appreciated the efforts taken by ESL.

“ESL has always been proactive when it comes to community benefit. The company has been actively participating in the fight against Covid by supplying liquid oxygen to those in need, not just in Jharkhand but also in other states. I shall continue to support their CSR activities and wish them all the best,” said SDO.

N.L. Vhatte, CEO, ESL Steel, said, I am very grateful to the district administration and the SDO for always supporting our CSR activities.

“I also feel glad to be able to help the community during these testing times where people are not getting access to even the basic necessities. ESL will continue to selflessly care for others and contribute to overcoming the pandemic,” added Vhatte.
