Ex-Army Colonel joins Rotary International

On the birthday of the first Indian President of Rotary International Sekhar Mehta, the Rotary Club of Bhubaneswar Central organised a special function in which six eminent members of the society, Col Dr Biranchi Narayan Pani, Biyotprajna Tripathy, Bigyan Projna Pany, Raja Kishore Sahoo, Manoj Kumar Rath and Sudarshan Chhotoray, were inducted into Rotary International as its active members.

The function was attended by former PDG of Rotary District 3262 and former VC of Utkal University of Culture Narendra Kumar Mishra as chief guest while club president Dr Aryakumar Jnanendra presided over it. Narendra Mishra welcomed the new members to work for the downtrodden sections of the society as they are now part of the reputed 115-year-old club of the world.

Chief speaker former Dean of OUAT Dr Buddhadev Mishra extolled the virtues of services provided by the Rotary Club members among the deprived classes and said it also develops friendship among different sections of the society.

President-elect Dr Sourendra Kumar Mohapatra welcomed the members and guests and secretary educationist Jyoti Shankar Mohanty gave a vote of thanks. Former IG of Police Arun Kumar Upadhaya spoke on the relevance of Maha Navami Puja. Chief guest Narendra Mishra gave the Rotary badges to the new members.
