Chhattisgarh Police said on Friday they have arrested five persons, including two doctors from Uttar Pradesh, and brought them to Bilaspur city on charges of abducting a director of a private hospital a few days ago here.
Bilaspur Superintendent of Police Deepak Kumar Jha told the Pioneer that those arrested were Dr Shailendra Masih, Dr Mohammad Arif, lab technician Firoz Khan, Rizwan and driver Arif, all from Uttar Pradesh.
On September 19, they abducted the director of Sky Hospital, Pradeep Agrawal (42), over monetary issues from Rajkishore Nagar locality in Bilaspur.
After the abduction, one of the accused reached the hospital and took away Agrawal's bank cheque book.
They manhandled Agrawal and took his signature on cheques, blank stamp papers as well as court affidavits.
The hospital management lodged a case on September 20.
After a police manhunt, the accused left Agrawal at the Delhi airport and escaped. The police nabbed them from Moradabad.
They seized two cars used in the crime, a cheque book, court affidavits and stamp papers.
