District administration has decided to initiate a massive mask checking drive in coal city from tomorrow in view of rising cases of corona .
It's worth mentioning that Dhanbad has presently around 200 positive corona cases that are undergoing treatment at dedicated covid treatment centres.
Deputy commissioner US Singh while speaking to media persons here today said, three terms would be booking after the drive and those caught without mask would have to go under mandatory corona positive besides would also have to pay fine fixed by the state government.
He said those caught would also be detained at JAP camp Govindpur throughout the day where besides corona test would also be sensitized with corona based motivational videos and benefits of wearing masks. Only those would be found negative would be released .
He said three terms have been prepared and it requires more would be prepared for this work.
In another drive SDM S Kumar on Wednesday ordered closure of three shops in the Park Market area for violation of use of mask and other guidelines.
Use of masks by both shopkeepers and customers has been made mandatory by the government thus a special drive has been launched to make people aware . Even after this, people who fail to use masks would be dealt accordingly, said Kumar.
