Despite the corona crisis, the Chhattisgarh Forest Department provided 5.23 crore lakh man-days of employment in 2020-21 under employment-oriented schemes including the collection of minor forest produce, it was announced on Saturday.
Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Chief of Forest Force Rakesh Chaturvedi said several works related to development and conservation of forests were done in the state, an official communication said. In the process, employment of 2.23 crore man-days was made available to the people. Similarly, 3 crore man-days of employment were made available through collection and processing of minor forest produce.
