The BJP MLA from Baghmara Dhallu Mahto once again appears to be in trouble as police have filed a fresh case of extortion against the lawmaker. Several cases are pending in different Courts against Mahto. The new case has been filed at Barora police station by a businessman-cum-contractor Riyaz Kurashi.
Kurashi has filed a complaint against the lawmaker levelling extortion demand and hampering the ongoing work and forcefully capturing equipment engaged in work. Besides the MLA, five others have been named and eight to ten other unknown persons have been mentioned by Kurashi in his complaint.
The complainant, whose company is laying a railway track at Shatabdi coal mines of BCCL under a joint venture project, in his complaint alleges that the MLA along with his goons forces to stop work off and on and demands for extortion.
Reports suggest that two incidents have been reported in the last one month and the MLA has been doing this since the project commenced six months ago for want of money. He has also forced people to stop work. This company is facing a financial crisis too, said Kurashi in his complaint.
The Baror police have filed case no 39/21on basis of the written complaint of Kurashi under section 341,387,504 and 506 of IPC.
